Noah's Faith

Hebrews 11:6,7 "But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.  By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith."

Noah was a man of faith.  But Noah had a faith that went to work for God.  In this day and age we're living in, there seems to be much talk of "faith" but not much faith that is working for the Glory of God.

James 2:17 "Even so faith if it hath not works is dead, being alone."  James 2:26 "For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also."

First we see the Foundation of Noah's Faith, Heb. 11:7 "...being warned of God..."  God's Word was Noah's foundation of faith.  Would God lie?  No!  Noah shouts, so he believes God and trusts God because God, His Word is Truth!

Second we see the Strength of Noah's Faith.  Heb. 11:7 "things not seen as yet..."  The skies were clear, no storm clouds, heavens are silent but God has spoken.  Noah must go against the whole world, but when your faith is founded on the Words of the Living God there is No opposition that is going to stop you.

Third we see the Quality of Noah's Faith.  Heb. 11:7 "..moved with fear..."  "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of Wisdom"!  This fear brought deep conviction that the whole world was wrong but God is always right.  So Noah trusted God and went to work accordingly, building and preaching.

Fourth we see the Evidences of Noah's Faith.  Heb. 11:7 "...prepared an ark..."  Gen. 6:22 "Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he."  What a Glorious testimony for the Glory of God.  He "prepared"! Are we preparing to meet Our Precious Lord at the Judgment Seat of Christ?  Are we building young men and women to meet a sin cursed world as arrows for the Lord?  Are we building the ministries we're involved in to "minister" to the saints and in the Lord?  All through Heb 11, the men and women of faith, their lives evidenced their faith.

Last we see the Reward of Noah's Faith.  Heb 11:7 "...became heir of the righteousness which is by faith."  Lord help us to set our affections on things above.  God help us to have a faith that will "occupy" for the Glory of God.  Oh that we might have a Faith that Works that we might hear; "Well done thou good and faithful Servant."!
