Words of Wisdomby Pastor Michael T. Keenan May 2006 Building Godly Homes - Part II
If we Bible Believing Christians are going to have godly homes, with a godly husband, wife relationships and godly children brought up for the Glory of God, there are some very important things that husbands and wives need to be in ABSOLUTE agreement about. I. Authority Husbands and Wives should be settled on the authority of the Bible (AV1611) in their lives and homes. Bible believing Christians "Profess" that the Bible is their final Authority in Faith and Practice. Unfortunately, there is much lacking in the "Practice" aspect in the day and age. A Major Problem in many homes today is that men, women, and children are not in their right, Biblical place (Judges 7:19-22). God's order of Authority is very clear in the Scriptures (I Cor. 11:1-3; 7-10). I Cor. 11:3 says "But I would have you know that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God." The Woman's Rights Movement has not been blessing to women, our Society, nor our homes an churches. Any, Movement that violates the Word of God and seeks to destroy the fabric of the Christian home and thus society, has its roots in Hell. The high calling of God for a godly woman is to marry the man God has for her, bear children and raise them for the Glory of God, guide the house, and live joyfully in the Lord with her family (I Tim. 5:14). Staying at Home to take care of her family is a holy calling, not a drudgery (Titus 2:5). We need godly men today willing to accept their God given responsibilities and lead their wives and children in the godly path that God would have them to Go. Matt 6:33 "Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and his Righteous and all these things shall be added unto you." Many Christian men have their priorities al out of whack, lining up with the World rather than the Word of God. Men need to step up Spiritually and accept the charge to love their wives AS Christ loved the church and train their children scripturally and lead their homes. Such takes time and effort and prayer and Bible Study. If the Bible is Truly our Final Authority, we Christians will seek to be in our Biblical places in the home, that we might enjoy the Bible Blessing in our Marriages & homes. (To be continued) |
