The Life of Samson

Judges 13:2-25

Samson was unique among the Judges in that he was introduced before he was born while the other Judges were introduced as adults when they were ready to take the office of Judge.  This reminds me, that we as believers bring children into the world, that God has a plan for their lives as well as ours.  Thus, we have a great responsibility to "bring up our children in the way that they should go."

The Revelation of Samson's impending birth was first given to his mother, who the Lord never gives us her name.  But the IMPORTANCE of 'godly' mothers cannot be overemphasized in these last days we live.  Seems that many mothers are more concerned about fads, fashions, TV shows and DVD movies than the great need for 'godly' mothers.  Mothers who will seek the the Lord in their personnel devotions, Bible Time, and Prayer Time.  Mothers who see the high calling of God as "Keepers at home" and give themselves heart and soul to their husbands and children.  Godly Mothers who will have an influence on their children for the Glory of God.

Please notice the request Samson's parents laid before the Angel of the Lord in Judges 13:12 "...How shall we order the child, and how shall we do unto him?"  One of the Great needs of our day is parents that will seek the "Old Paths" of how God wants us to bring up our children for Him.  Our children today DO NOT need the ungodly influence of the devil controlled TV, ungodly movies with foul language and immodesty or the worldly fashions of our day.  They need a godly Mom and Dad who will seek to "get their children's hearts", and set a good example and path for their children to follow.

With the devil and the world stepping up into pressure to allure Christian Kids from home and church, it seems foolish to me to bring that sort of ungodliness into our houses, and pay good money for it on top of that.

Samson didn't do too good.  But that wasn't the way his parents brought him up.  Samson had to climb over a mountain of godly raising and Bible Truth to chase after his fleshly lusts.

All of our children have free will.  But God help the parents who grease the skids for their children to forsake God and the Home and Church by not seeking to have a "godly home" with godly standards and principles.

God help us to resist the World and the devil and ask for and walk in the The Old Paths.
